Please send your ideas to Upton Parish Council for a Remembrance/Jubilee Tree Sculpture

Upton Parish Council (UPC) is seeking ideas and suggestions from the local community for a concept idea to develop a remembrance/ memorial feature, with the majority of the material being wood taken from the tree stump which is due to be removed from the car park at the end of Kent Road.

The objective is to create 2 features, one in the North and 1 in the South of the Parish area. The proposed theme is remembrance so the names of the fallen could part of the design. We are aiming for it to be a point of remembrance for all or, alternatively the idea could also consider a sculpture celebrating HM The Queen's 2022 Platinum Jubilee.

Timescale:

UPC will accept concept idea submission until the 30th July 2021.

Process:

A number of ideas will be taken forward by the Council and all residents will be given the opportunity to choose a preferred idea for each area.

We really hope that local community groups, or individuals will be part of the project as it proceeds.

The ideas can be scanned and sent electronically to Nina Villa, Parish Clerk at clerk@upton-pc.gov.uk or posted to 20 Upper Clabdens, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 7HB

Please check the UPC Website for updates, or contact the UPC on clerk@upton-pc.gov.uk

or Cllr Andrew Holt at andrew.holt@upton-pc.pc.gov
